Grace at Work: The Transformative Power of a Thankful Heart”

By Heather Shaffer

Scripture:

📖 “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” — Proverbs 17:22

Devotional Thought:

Prayer is where a thankful heart begins. Before gratitude shows up in your words or actions at work, it starts in quiet moments with God. When you take time to pray—even in the middle of your workday—you invite His peace to steady your spirit and soften your responses.

In prayer, gratitude becomes more than a feeling; it becomes a habit. You begin to see challenges as opportunities to trust Him and coworkers as people to love rather than compete with. A thankful heart, shaped in prayer, releases healing into the workplace—it lightens conversations, renews perspectives, and opens space for joy to grow.

The more you pray, the more your gratitude becomes contagious. Your peaceful spirit speaks louder than frustration ever could. Through prayer, God uses your thankful heart to set the tone for the room and to remind others that joy is still possible here.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being near in every moment—especially the busy, stressful ones. Teach me to pause and pray instead of react. Fill my heart with gratitude that overflows into my words, my work, and my relationships. Let my prayers shift the atmosphere, bringing healing, unity, and joy wherever I go. Amen. 💖

Workplace Challenge:

This week, express specific gratitude to someone whose efforts often go unnoticed. Let your thankfulness be a testimony of your faith in God’s goodness.
