The Importance of Purity – Proverbs 7:1,5

The passage for today is Proverbs 7:1, 5. It says, “My son, keep my words and treasure my commandments within you so that they may keep you from an adulterous, from the foreigner who flatters with her words.”

Purity is important because every little bit matters. Every little lack of purity, every little impurity matters. Every little challenge matters. When we compromise even in the least, it matters.

However, the good news is that every little thing we do can also matter forever. In Matthew 10, Jesus says that even when we give a cup of cold water, because we’re a disciple, we shall not lose our reward.

Let’s ask God to show us where we’re being lazy when it comes to purity. Let’s ask Him to show us where we’re tolerating just doing what we’ve always done. Because when we do what we’ve always done, we get what we always got.

Today, let’s attack our own purity. Ask God what He would have you change and then use the next five minutes to do something about it.
