What does it mean to be really free, or to be free indeed?
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36 ESV
This means that we have the freedom to choose our own path and make our own decisions. We are not bound by the expectations of others or by the circumstances of our lives. We are free to live our lives for God and to make a difference in the world.
We can exercise this freedom by taking every thought captive and choosing to obey God. We can also choose to serve others and to love our enemies. When we do these things, we are walking in the freedom that Jesus has given us.
We are free indeed when we trust Jesus and follow him. We are no longer slaves to sin or to the world. We are free to live our lives for God and to make a difference in the world.
