What does it take to be a disciple? Notice how sharp the demands of a disciple are in this passage. This is one of the very few times Jesus uses the word we translate to “disciple.” He seems to be very exclusive. A disciple must be someone who does all of these difficult things. Mike heard about a book that seems to use this passage to explain how to become a disciple. Is this the passage we should use to define the role of a disciple?
