Becoming Righteous – 2 Corinthians 5:21

By Tammy Burke

What a great passage for the podcast before Christmas.

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB

Our righteousness is sealed when we choose to follow Jesus. How we work that out is still up to us. Jesus’s part is complete. He knew no sin. Yet God made him to be sin on our behalf. Christ had the idea, and he took the penalty for our sin before we knew we needed it and without our even asking. And he did that “so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

When this originally airs, it’s the Friday before Christmas 2022. The baby we’re celebrating this weekend is the king of the universe. He will die for our sins. And he will make us reconcilers and ambassadors in the world. God has a job for you. As you do that job, you receive joy. God provides. Let’s trust him and rely on him and walk in the joy he provides the rest of this year and the rest of our earthly lives. You’re an ambassador of King Jesus. How will you live?
