God is good. He’s in charge. And He is always working—often in ways I don’t expect.
In this week’s Vision Cast, I found myself reflecting on a tension I experience often: the difference between focusing on the “business” of church and actually living out my faith in everyday life. The inner workings of a church matter, but I’m continually reminded that my real ministry happens outside the building—in meetings, conversations, and unexpected moments with people who need care.
That’s where this idea of meeting needs unexpectedly comes in.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been talking about serving quietly, going beyond expectations, and being ready at all times. This week builds on that: being available when God interrupts my plans. These moments aren’t always convenient. They challenge my time, my resources, and even my motives.
Scripture reminds me that generosity and responsiveness matter deeply. Proverbs 19:17 tells me that when I give to others, I’m lending to the Lord. And in Luke 6:38, I’m reminded that what I give will be returned—pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing.

But this isn’t just about money. I believe we’re called to be “grace distributors.” I’ve received grace in so many ways—through skills, time, relationships, and resources. My job is to pass that grace on to others in practical, everyday ways.
Sometimes that means giving. Sometimes it means listening. Sometimes it means choosing the harder path instead of the easier one.
And honestly, it’s not always clear. I still wrestle with my motives. I still wonder if I’m really hearing from God. But I’m learning to step forward anyway—trusting the Holy Spirit to guide me as I go.
This is at the heart of the Marketplace Mission Trip—learning to live intentionally, right where I am.
So here’s the question I’m asking myself today: Where might God be prompting me? Where is he prompting you? Do you need to give a gift? Or help a friend?
Let’s lean into it. Take one step. Do one thing.
Because what we do—simply because we follow Jesus—matters forever.
