Elevate Your Purpose – Energize Your Life

By Mike Henry Sr.

As a leader and a developer of leaders, I help people elevate their purpose. An elevated purpose brings energy and passion. Our best purposes bring out our best energy. When we focus on our most elevated purpose, we produce an organic energy and a magnetic passion. Our most elevated purpose inspires others – not everyone, but some – to join. Elevated purpose creates energy, inspires motivation and produces exciting results.

Anyone, when pursuing their highest goals creates organic energy. The energy comes from within. Our greatest purposes call for our greatest effort and something within us knows this. Inspired, we continue, try again, keep trying. Our higher purposes mobilize us.

As a follower of Jesus, I don’t believe there is a higher purpose than following Jesus and serving others. In Jesus own words:

But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered themselves together. One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, ”Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
And He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40 NASB

How do we connect leadership and an elevated purpose to Jesus commands? Because I follow Jesus, I believe we live forever. Our forever life won’t be subject to many of the issues and problems of our temporal (in time) life. In another place Jesus tells us to lay up treasure in Heaven instead of working for treasure here on earth (Matthew 6:19-20). We can impact our forever life by what we do in our temporal life.

So the value system or the economy of the eternal life is loving God with all of our heart, soul and mind and loving our neighbor as our self. Therefore my most elevated purpose, my greatest legacy are the things I do because I love God and people.

To me, when I follow *the One* I’m helping everyone I can get one notch closer to loving God and loving others. I want to think strategically to maximize my energy loving people because I love God. When we love God we will love others.

How are you in the area of loving God and loving people? Do you sense God asking you to step it up?
