In today’s world, the workplace is one of the most significant mission fields. Most believers spend the majority of their waking hours at work, yet churches often only focus on ministry within the walls of the church. This is why a marketplace ministry is essential — it equips believers to integrate their faith into their careers, transforming their workplaces into places of worship and witness. The Biblical Purpose of Work
Work was never meant to be a curse. Genesis 2:15 tells us that God placed Adam in the garden “to work it and take care of it” (NIV). Work is a divine calling, not just a means for earning a living. While they may attend midweek services, such as prayer meetings or Bible study, throughout the week, believers still face an unyoking between Sunday morning worship and Monday morning work. A marketplace ministry will teach that work itself is a form of worship (Colossians 3:23), serving as motivation and inspiration for Christians to entirely devote themselves to their profession throughout the week. Whether teachers, business owners, or construction workers, every profession can glorify God.

There are many ways to start a marketplace ministry in your place of worship, but below is a short list ministry leaders can begin with.
