How Can We All Be Equipped

Not everyone is made to be the evangelists you see on stage or around crowds. Yet, God put us here to be His voice in a deafening crowd. So how can we all be equipped if we have different skill sets? Doug speaks on this, and it all starts with building practical, authentic and doable actions that everyone can accomplish. So, in short, Yes! You can be equipped but its not as easy as buying something online. It takes practice and determination. A great resource to take these actions to the next step is in Doug’s book “God’s Space” where he dives into these doable and purposeful actions that spark evangelism in your everyday lives.

Listening Well

What does it mean to listen well? Why is listening so important? Doug believes that listening is key in both understanding and building trust with someone who might need the word of God. Sometimes we overlook this step. With an intense passion for God and deep knowledge in his word, we sometimes want non-believers to understand us before we begin to understand them. With practical listening, we should seek to understand someone before we decide that it is time they understand us and our beliefs. Building upon this, in Mike’s interview with Doug, we learn that how we approach others on our relationship with God is the most important aspect of building a relationship. It all starts with listening!

The Beauty of Wondering

Wonder; A desire to be curious or to know something. As the verb, wonder might have you reflect back upon children and how they seem to have an endless supply of it. But do we stop wondering? Doug discusses how the beauty of wondering means that you can come right back to missed opportunities. As Christians, we learn that we miss more opportunities than we take. Wondering has the advantage to reclaim some of those opportunities and using it as a tool to continue conversations centered around your faith at work. This also gives us some time to pray to get the best and wisest possible questions or solutions to that opportunity. So, maybe you missed an opportunity recently that you can recall. Can you think of one? We want to challenge you to go back and pray on it, think about it, and maybe come up with your own “wondering question” that can grab that person’s attention once again.
