Patient Listening – Proverbs 18:13

By Michael Henry Jr.

The passage for today is Proverbs 18:13. It says, “If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.”

This proverb teaches us that it is important to listen before we speak. When we speak before we have heard the whole question or situation, we are likely to say something foolish or embarrassing.

We can avoid this by being patient and waiting to hear everything before we respond. This will help us to avoid making mistakes and damaging our relationships.

Let’s all remember to be patient and listen before we speak. This will help us to be more wise and effective communicators.
