When We Can’t Follow Jesus – John 13:36

When We Can’t Follow Jesus

Jesus asked Peter to follow Him at the beginning of His earthly ministry. And He would do it again in John Chapter 21:19. But today, Jesus tells Peter he cannot follow Him. He’s going to the cross. Following Jesus means we each take up our own cross daily. Peter couldn’t take part in Jesus’ cross. We each must carry our own. When we trust Jesus, we get the Holy Spirit to help us follow Him. But until we trust Jesus, and receive the Holy Spirit, we’re not really following Him.
