Purpose Can Be Beyond Your Faith

Our purpose as Christ-followers goes well beyond our faith. We are not perfect, and we do not always make the right decisions. The point is, our Faith does not only define us but can define our relationships as well. Jo’Ann talks about how just a few years ago her faith was changed to go beyond just teaching nouns and verbs. Now it is about building a better future for her students, neighbors, and coworkers. Most of us don’t have the time or resources to leave the country or go on a mission trip beyond our home town. We want to empower you to be a minister locally, in your own town, now!

The Power of Praying for People in Your Workplace

Jo'Ann Garcia

There is real power in prayer. Jo’Ann discusses just this – For example while going through the Marketplace Mission Trip, Jo’Ann learned that prayer for her students was something that could directly impact them on a daily basis who did not have an appreciation for education. We will learn that praying for coworkers, students, and neighbors are not just to inspire change for a better life but an obligation to build a better relationship with the people you are around each day.

Practice Makes Us Better

Have you ever heard the phrase “Practice makes Perfect”? I think we all agree in the philosophy of the phrase itself and it looks to be true in our faith as well. Your workplace is inherently local to you. It is important that we do something local and not just something national or international. Jo’Ann has taken the Marketplace Mission Trip more than once and each time it was a consistent reminder in the practice of being a minister at work. Through that consistent reminder, we become better at our purpose and that is the key!
