Jesus’ Job for Me?

Jesus’ Job For Me

Does Jesus have a job for me? For you? The Bible tells us He does. Jesus wants us to be His hands and feet, He wants us to share with others the joy we have found in serving Him. In this video, Mike is going to tell us all about the job He has for us.

Transcript:

Leah: Hey everybody. It’s Leah from Follower of One. Now if you’re like me, you’ve wondered what’s my purpose in life? What am I supposed to be doing? Well, today Mike’s going to show us everything that Jesus has for me and for you. Let’s check it out.

Does Jesus Have a Job For You

Mike: Hi, this is Mike Henry with Follower of One does. Does Jesus have a job for you? I think He has a job for me. I think He has a job for each of us. There are a couple of stories in Luke chapter six, where Jesus is having struggles with the leaders of the Jewish nation who are critical of Him because He continues to do things on the Sabbath.

Jesus Knows

Luke 6:5, there’s a story that begins and there’s a man who’s in the audience who has a withered hand. Jesus knows that the Jewish leaders are critical of Him, waiting to see if Jesus is going to heal the man. Jesus even almost picks argument with the Jewish leaders. But then He asks the man to come forward, and he asks the man to stretch out his hand. As he does, his hand is healed, and the Jews are critical of Jesus for doing work on the Sabbath.

Jesus Asks

Jesus asks us to do things. Jesus doesn’t choose to do His work in a vacuum, He does it when we act. When the man sticks out his hand, he’s healed. When we do things because we believe in Jesus, we see Him work in the lives of our friends and our coworkers. Do you do anything in your job on a daily basis, or on a regular basis, that is something that you do simply because you believe in Jesus?

He’s Working

When you step out and start serving your coworkers, and trying to make a difference in the lives of people just because Jesus asked you, you begin to enter this place where we can see Jesus work. He’s working to make a difference in the lives of everyone we know. When we act, we experience the joy, and peace and purpose of intentionally walking with Jesus in our work. Our actions are sometimes the trigger for Jesus making a difference in the lives of the people around us.

Watch Him Work

So, let’s act today. Do what Jesus is prompting you to do, and let’s watch Him work in the lives of our coworkers, our customers, our vendors, and our friends. We will see Him working in their lives.

Getting Even

Do you keep score? Do you keep a record and try to get even? The Bible challenges us to bless others. We don’t do something nice to someone to get even. We do something nice because we trust God. We are each accountable for our actions. If someone does wrong with us, God will make that right. Can you maintain good motives and good actions toward others, even when they don’t do good toward you?
