Learn more about The Christian Advantage

Bruce helps people bring their Christian faith into their daily life and make a difference. One of the ways Bruce does this is through The Christian Advantage. The Christian Advantage consists of groups that meet once monthly for five hours. There’s round table time where people share problems, receive counsel from one another, and pray for each other. Currently, the in-person groups are active in the Louisville, KY area.

Since 2003, they’ve had 120 companies participate. Two of the original five founders are regular participants. They have eight different groups that study 59 lessons throughout the year. Each lesson is available on the website for independent study as well.

Learn more about Business Ministry Initiatives

Business Ministry Initiatives was an outgrowth of events that The Christian Advantage put on. It grew into a conference. Now, years later, March 30th of 2023 marked their 8th conference. It’s become an event that brings different ministries together and builds community.

In 2019, they started a second event called ARISE, which focuses on getting the church involved in society. Christians have separated from society and allowed society to dominate the culture. But Christians need to be involved in shaping culture and not allowing culture to dominate how they live their faith. The ARISE format is divided to cover seven pillars: Faith, family, business, education, arts & entertainment, politics, and media & news.

Bruce hopes that ARISE will become their premiere event to help Christians get more involved in these various areas. The goal is to continue to build the program to have breakout sessions, etc.

An example might be if you have children in school, you could get involved in parent/teacher organizations. Why not help shape policy and give directives? Christians need to be in decision-making positions. They help people learn how they can make a difference.

The changes in ministry brought about by COVID

COVID has changed the landscape of life—not just business. Everyone in the Christian community who’s involved in outreach acknowledges that people are hungry to learn more and are open to exploring faith more than ever before. So Christians need to be bold and be prepared to step into that space.

What’s happening next for Bruce’s ministries

Bruce is working on a plan to continue both organizations once he retires. He hired an Executive Director for Business Ministry Initiatives to eventually take over running the events. During the next year, he’s also building a team to work to expand the TCA programs. He hope that they will build interest in other geographical areas with the downloadable format they offer. If it goes well, they’ll work on creating online platforms.
