Only One Lord - Ephesians 4:4-6 | Follower of One

Paul explains that we have one Lord. He is calling us to unity. We have one Lord. One faith, one baptism. We’re to be united in who we follow, but not how. I wonder if we don’t get it backwards a bit. He mentions we have one body, one spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God.

What does it mean that we have one Lord, one God and Father, and one Spirit? Mike talked about how we must know God and Jesus claimed to be God. Therefore we must know Jesus. The better we know them, the greater the likelihood that we will do what they want and experience their presence.

In Follower of One, we want to remind ourselves daily to listen to and obey God. We see him in Jesus, and we see him in the ways the Holy Spirit interacts with us. It begins with remembering our God isn’t a God of confusion. Let’s learn his word, interact with his people and watch for how we can concentrate on obeying him, even if it looks different than what some of our friends might do.

While you’re at it, we can always practice. Why not sign up for our next Marketplace Mission Trip, to practice how our one Lord would have you live out your faith? The next trip begins February 1. Invite one friend, too. Learn more and sign up at MarketplaceMissionTrip.com
