Thanks Comes First – 1 Chronicles 16:7

By Tammy Burke

Why do we thank first? Shouldn’t we wait until something good happens and then be thankful?

In 1 Chronicles 16, they’re placing the Ark of the Covenant in it’s tent. David begins by appointing that thanks be given to God.

Why thank first? It shows that we trust God. We know “God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28. Therefore we can begin with thanks. We can live thankful lives and we can enable God to use our thanks to help our friends move one notch closer to God.

So if you’re in the US, we hope you get to enjoy the holiday. Regardless, enjoy the spirit of thankfulness. Let thanks invade your attitude and your circumstances today. Let’s enjoy our relationship with Jesus and bless the people we meet.

Thank you for being a marketplace minister and allowing your faith to invade your daily life. What we do because we trust Jesus matters.
